The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair showcases the best of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) across the UK, and aims to inspire and celebrate the achievements of young people in the sector.
80,000 people attended The Big Bang Fair last year and with a whole host of interactive activities on offer, and shows and talks to sample, this year is geared to be a great experience for all. The Big Bang Fair aims to show the applicability of STEM skills and brings to life classroom learnings for young people aged 7 to 19.
Highlights of The Big Bang Fair include the chance to compete for several different awards, including the GSK UK Young Scientist of the Year and GSK UK Young Engineer of the Year titles. Winners of The Big Bang Competition are those that create innovative solutions to real-world problems. Last year, Maeve and Grace, Brendan and Aelia won the awards for their inspiring projects focused on the treatment of hypertension and the use of machine learning to assess an individual’s music performance.
Due to the spread of Covid-19 in the UK, The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair 2020 was unfortunately cancelled, but keep an eye out for updates about next year.
