Ana Antόn-Solanas

What is your job?

I’m a ‘Sports Dietician’ at GSK. I give advice on nutrition and supplements and am responsible for body composition assessment, which means that I analyse athletes’ fat, bone, water and muscle percentages and can work out what would help each individual perform at their best.

How did you choose your career?

At school, I knew I wanted to study something health related. After my degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics I specialised in sport. This job at GSK has allowed me to have a career in sports nutrition and do something I love.

What do you like best about your job?

Every day, I learn new things and work on something I love. I get to work in a big team with lots of specialists and I also get to work with brilliant athletes and explorers!

What’s your next goal?

My goal at the moment is to do a PhD and stay involved in research in nutrition and sport as long as possible.

What’s your advice for budding scientists?

Keep updated: STEM education never stops and you will never stop discovering new things!
