Celebrating STEM talent with The GSK UK Young Scientist of the Year award 2017

08 March 2017

Explore the world of science with the 2017 UK Young Scientist of the Year award.

The Big Bang Fair is a celebration of young people taking an interest in STEM subjects, offering the opportunity to explore the role science plays in their everyday lives. This year, GSK is proud to be sponsoring the UK Young Scientist of the Year Award (2017) as part of the annual Big Bang Competition.

The GSK Science Education team, who will be present at the Big Bang Fair 2017 to get children involved with hands-on science demonstrations, believes the next big breakthrough in science lies within the minds of young budding scientists. The GSK UK Young Scientist of the Year Award therefore seeks to highlight and celebrate exceptional students between the ages of 11 and 18 who have demonstrated their ingenuity and creativity within a scientific subject. GSK believes these are the people who could one day provide us with a better, healthier world, and believes it is of great importance to motivate and reward young people with exceptional talent, and to inspire a future generation of scientists.

The GSK UK Young Scientist of the Year will be announced on 16 March, 2017 at the Big Bang Fair, Birmingham.
